There are plenty of vehicles in our used vehicle inventory with one, the other, or both of these great technologies, available right here at Briggs Supercenter in Manhattan, Kansas. We’ll dive into what exactly these two technologies do then highlight some examples of available vehicles, so read on to learn more.

Honda Sensing Lane Keeping Assist System

What is Lane Keep Assist?

Another common name for Lane Keep Assist is Lane Keeping Assist System. Regardless of what name the technology goes by, they all work to ensure that your vehicle stays in the lane that it’s supposed to be in while you’re driving. There are subtleties that might differ from brand to brand, but most commonly the vehicle will deliver some alert(s) to let you know if and when you start to drift out of your lane, then if you don’t respond right away the system will take over and gently easy you back into the center of the lane, making sure to keep you there as best it can.

Subaru EyeSight Lane Departure Warning

What is Lane Departure Warning?

This system works hand in hand with Lane Keep Assist and is often included if the vehicle has it, but it also works just fine on its own and can be found in vehicles that don’t offer an LKAS. Lane Departure Warning will send you some kind of alert(s), typically a visual alert accompanied by an audible warning, if your vehicle crosses over its lane line. It doesn’t make any effort to correct the situation, unless paired to an LKAS, but it makes sure you know you’re drifting over the line without having your turn signal indicator turned on.
