Your mind might immediately gravitate towards the Wrangler when thinking about the Jeep brand, but the truth is the brand has made a ton of iconic vehicles throughout its history. While the Wrangler might be its oldest and most popular model, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is nothing to sneeze at. It has itself been around since all the way back in 1992, more than 30 years ago now. With stints as a midsize traditional SUV, midsize crossover and now even a full-size crossover, it makes an excellent option for rugged transportation, especially if you want to tackle the off-road. We’ve had plenty of used Jeep Grand Cherokee models for sale right here at Briggs Supercenter in Manhattan, Kansas, so be sure to check out our inventory if you might be interested.
As we mentioned, the Jeep Grand Cherokee dates back to 1992. Its first generation kicked off for the 1993 model year before transitioning to its second in 1999, third in 2005, fourth in 2011 and finally its fifth and current generation in 2021. While older generations like the first and second are unlikely to pass through our inventory, fourth and fifth are quite likely and perhaps even a few third gen models here and there.
The current generation of Grand Cherokee is split into two models, the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L. The latter is the full-size variant we mentioned earlier, while the former is the traditional midsize crossover version. Virtually any trim level is possible, but looking at the current generation that includes Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve and the plug-in hybrid 4xe model.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is an iconic crossover utility vehicle with decades of experience, with only two models having been around longer on the lineup – being its Cherokee sibling and the aforementioned Wrangler. It’s packed full of content both for regular everyday driving and weekend adventures on or off the road. It’s affordable, stylish, spacious and so much more.
If you’re in the market for a two- or three-row crossover utility vehicle, then you should certainly consider the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
