While some nameplates certainly have a long and storied history behind them, you might be surprised by just how young most of the Chevrolet lineup is. Models like the Tahoe, Suburban and Silverado go back to the ‘90s, but none of the crossover utility vehicles on the lineup date back that far. In fact, only two go back further than 2010. The oldest member of the brand’s crossover lineup is the Chevy Equinox, which made its debut for the 2005 model year. We typically have quite a few used Chevy Equinox models for sale here at Briggs Supercenter in Manhattan, Kansas, so if you’re in the market for a compact crossover you should check it out.
Although Equinox is the oldest nameplate of the eight crossovers currently on the Chevy lineup, its current state only dates back to the beginning of its third generation in 2018 when it made the switch from the midsize segment to compact. Technically any Equinox from 2005 to present day could be found in our used vehicle inventory, but the vast majority will likely be from 2018 on with a few maybe from the second generation.
There have been a few variant models made available through the years, including a fuel cell version of the vehicle in 2009. Another variant was a natural gas version that came out in 2013. And in 2024, an all-electric version called Equinox EV will be added to the lineup. As for trim levels, we’ll simply look at the current model year (2023) to discuss available trim levels, which include LS, LT, RS and Premier.
Believe it or not, the Chevy Equinox is actually one of the best-selling compact crossovers in the nation. That should be proof enough that it makes a great option in its segment, but it has a reputation to back up the claim too. It’s known to be both reliable and practical, spacious and comfortable, affordable and efficient and packed full of great content that’s sure to help you and your passengers enjoy each experience.
If you’re in the market for a pre-owned compact crossover, the Chevy Equinox is a great option. Be sure to check out our online used inventory to see what we have available, and don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
