Buick has had favorable sales over the past year, and in order to continue their considerable upswing has decided to begin focusing on appealing to a younger demographic. Buick’s new 2012 entry level sedan, the Verano, is just what they’ve been hoping for. By tossing out older names like Roadmaster and LeSabre, Buick hopes to project a brand new image with the Verano. The 2012 Buick Verano will be available at Briggs Supercenter in Manhattan, Kansas by late fall. The name is appealing because it sounds slightly exotic, yet rolls off the tongue quite easily. Sister car to the Chevrolet Cruze, the 2012 Buick Verano shares the same chassis, and interior and exterior style. Therefore, the name Verano is very suitable. Under the hood, the Buick Verano will host the Regal’s 2.4L Ecotec 4-cylinder engine that shoots out 177-hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. With its 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2012 Buick Verano jumps from 0-60 mph in a mere 8 seconds. Fuel economy is strong, with an estimated 31 mpg highway. GM has also announced that a 2.0L turbo variety engine will be available for the Verano in the future. With all this, its going to be hard to resist checking out this new sedan, especially if you’re in the market for something along those lines.
